Happy New Year 2012!
Happy New Year to All! I am very much looking forward to 2012. This will be the end of my third year teaching at TCTC, the time has passed so incredibly fast! December was full or traveling, from Ohio back to South Carolina by car. I brought Steven to Youngstown to meet some of my extended family & show him where I grew up. We even squeezed in a visit to the Butler Art Museum. Luckily, there was no snow or even super cold weather to ice the roads. The day after Christmas my family went to Myrtle Beach, only 45 minutes from my brother's apartment, and reveled in the beautiful winter weather.
The images posted are of a drawing I made for my Dad this Christmas, commissioned by Mom :) We decided the artwork should contain the three fish that are his favorite to catch; walleye, croppie & perch. The drawing measures 11" x 14" which we framed in a 16" x 20" blue mat. I began by sketching on tracing paper so I could move the fish around and see how I wanted to arrange them on the final paper. Then lines were transferred and bit by bit, the fish were filled with scales, graphite and a touch of colored pencil.
